And the Angels Sing The Boston Museum of Fine Arts wanted to do a book of Christmas Carols for piano that would include artworks from their collection, and they asked me if I could help with the project. Of course I proposed a companion a CD to go with the book, to which they happily agreed. So I began to recruit arrangers and musicians from the Boston Area and settled upon the talented Peter Bloom, Patrick Jordan, and James Johnston - recipients of the Noah Greenberg Award of the American Musicological Society for their contribution to the study and performance of Early Music. In this mixture of traditional and classical arrangements, you will hear cello, flute, recorder, English horn, bassoon, violin and viola. I handed the production over to Bruce Foulke at North Star Records. Including: * Hark! The Herald Angels Sing * We Three Kings of Orient Are * Silent Night, Holy Night * Angels We Have Heard On High * O Come, All Ye Faithful * Once in Royal David's City * What Child is This? * Angels from the Realms of Glory * O Holy Night * Joy to the World * The Friendly Beasts * O Little Town of Bethlehem * Masters in this Hall * It Came Upon A Midnight Clear * March of the Kings * While Shepherds Watched their Flocks * God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen * Away in A Manger * On Christmas Night * Ave Maria * O Come, O Come Emmanuel * The First Noel The story behind this CD View More CDs |
